Their upcoming indirect sequel, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, looks better than ever in the brand new teaser trailer and I can’t wait to get my grubby little hands on this title next year.

Phoenix Online Studios’ point-and-click adventure game, Cognition: an Erica Reed Thriller, has been quickly accelerating on Steams’ Greenlight system. Being one of the first games submitted to Greenlight when it was first launched, it has risen to the top 70 extremely quickly.

Cognition: an Erica Reed Thriller comes from the critically acclaimed developer of “The Silver Lining” and promises an engrossing storyline with an intense atmosphere. The adventure follows the story of a Boston based FBI agent called Erica Reed, who is haunted by an unsolved case of the serial killer who murdered her brother.

Using her precognition abilities, players will be able to see the past of any object she touches, piece together the clues based on the history and unravel a chilling plot line.

Lucius, the promising new horror adventure game from developer, Shiver Games and Publisher Lace Mamba Global, is moving ever closer to release. Today, Lace Mamba has revealed the a bunch of new screenshots and a brand new Intro trailer showing the horror at work.

In homage to classic horror film, The Omen, Lucius casts you as a demon child with the 666 mark of the devil. Possessed by the satanic lord of the underworld, you must fulfil a quest to kill Lucius’ family in order to inherit his family’s wealth.

We’ve been looking forward to Lucius ever since it was first demoed to us a couple of years back. The whole game takes place in a country manor that acts as a sandbox to orchestrate wicked accidents, letting you off members of Lucius’ family in a plethora of creative ways. Imagine the death scenes in Final Destination – only this time, the death is dictated by a 6 year old.

After Slender: The Eight Pages terrified the crap out us this June, its creator, indie dev Mark Hadley, has announced he is currently working on its sequel, The Arrival.

Slender was a free-to-play PC game that put players in a forested area looking for eight pieces of paper while avoiding the internet phenomenon terror known only as ‘The Slender Man’.

In our review of Slender, Charlotte said, “Slender Man is a horror adventure game with a difference. You are armed only with a torch and a pair of legs with minimal running capacity – and a handful of trepidation to boot.”

Much like last year’s Dead Island CGI proved, a good trailer can do wonders for promoting a game. But forget about CGI, that isn’t really all that impressive. We want to see the game in action! The guys at Krillbite Studio know this, and they have got the internet buzzing like bee’s on heat over an early teaser of their unique upcoming horror, Among the Sleep – made entirely of gameplay footage.

Among The Sleep invites you into the mind and body of a two year old child. After being put to bed one evening, mysterious things start to happen.

Being played in first person, the game lets its players immerse themselves in a child’s limitless imagination. This is a perspective we all have a distant familiarity with, but few can clearly remember what it felt like.

I should start this review by admitting I’ve never had an interest in episodic, QTE adventure games. But when it comes to a mega franchise like The Walking Dead (zombies, yay!), I couldn’t resist the pull of the genre any longer. I feel confident in saying I’m not the only one who’ll be jumping into new territory to play this game either, such is the pull of The Walking Dead ever since it’s TV debut in 2010.

But if there’s one thing I do know, it’s that developer Telltale Games is a powerhouse of this field, and despite never playing them, the success of their takes on Sam & Max and Monkey Island have resonated throughout the industry. At least my episodic virginity is in safe hands, then.

Episode 1 – A New Day is the first of 5 planned episodic releases, each based on the universe created by Robert Kirkman’s original comics rather than being directly inspired by the popular TV series itself. Not that this represents much of a deviation for those who have only seen the TV show – the earlier episodes are surprisingly faithful to the comics.

Bethesda Softworks is pleased to announce that Tango Gameworks and director Shinji Mikami are working on a ‘survival horror’ game under the codename ‘Zwei’.

As a master of the ‘survival horror’ genre, Shinji Mikami is committed to making a game that is the realization of *pure* survival horror, an experience which he defines as one that pushes the limits of fear and exhilaration.

He and his team at Tango are committed to attaining this vision.

“A true ‘survival horror’ game is one in which the player confronts and overcomes fear,” says Shinji Mikami, president and creative director for Tango Gameworks.
